The Army has selected a new floatation vest for use by engineering troops building bridges. The vest has a woodland camouflage pattern and costs about $35. The vest can support a soldier with 75 pounds of equipment, enough to include his weapon and typical combat gear. The vest uses closed-cell foam and will still support the soldier even if punctured.--Stephen V Cole
