The missing hard disks from Los Alamos have been found "inside the secure area" (hidden behind a photocopy machine) but not where they were supposed to be. As the area they were found in had been searched several times, it appeared obvious that someone had taken them out of the vault without signing for them, perhaps to do legitimate work or perhaps to make unauthorized copies, then returned them to whatever part of the secure vault he could reach without being detected. At least one individual is being subjected to serious questioning after flunking a lie detector test. The FBI has declared the area a crime scene and has flown in more agents to conduct the investigation.--Stephen V Cole

June 19, 2000 Scientist Peter Lee, then an employee of TRW, told the Chinese about classified submarine-tracking radar projects during a speech he gave in Beijing in May 1997. He was not prosecuted because the Navy did not want the classified details of the radar to appear in court records.--Stephen V Cole
