The Germans have 33 of their eventual 180 Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role aircraft under construction at the EADS factory at Manching, Bavaria. The first three of these will reach flight tests this year, with service deliveries to start in mid-2002. One problem is that the German Typhoons will not initially have the Defense Aids Subsystem due to budget limits.--Stephen V Cole
