Troops killed the commander of one of FARCs 11th Front, along with three other rebels. The 16,500 member FARC is divided into 51 fronts (units of about 300 men, and some women, each). These are, in effect, battalions. On the Ecuador border, troops killed six rebels and seized a mini-refinery that was using oil stolen from a nearby pipeline to produce 1600 gallons of gasoline a day.
